Rocky Inlet

Rocky Inlet, 6 x 8, oil on panel, L. Daniel © 2013
SOLD

Here is another "postcard" from Hawaii from me to you - sent from my home of course! On a trip up to the north shore of Oahu we discovered many beautiful beaches. Some are famous for great surfing (Sunset and Pipeline) but this rocky inlet is a favorite spot for sea turtles to hang out. Unfortunately, we missed the turtles but we did get a dose of that gorgeous, warm afternoon light!

Beautiful. My kind of location. I'll be looking for similar spots in a couple of weeks.

I'm enjoying your ptgs of Hawaii. Know all the place you have painted to date. My grandson lives on North Shore & I, too, have painted some of the scene around that end of the island. Isn't it a wonderful place to photograph?

I love the motion in your palm trees and the silver light of the moon. Watching that moon set into that ocean is sublime. Our house is on Sunset. I drag along a different medium every year. Do one painting. Spend the rest of the time staring at the waves. And the whales. And eating shrimp. Urp.
